NEWS: J.R. Smith Shines Bright In Game 1 Of Eastern Conference Finals

The celebrities were out in Atlanta last night as the Atlanta Hawks took on the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The game tipped off a little after 8:30pm ET, as fans witnessed a great match up.

Cleveland’s J.R. Smith put on a shooting clinic as he scored a playoff career high 28 points off the bench as the Cavs defeated the Hawks in Game 1 97-89 in the Eastern Conference Finals. Cleveland  22-4 run in the 3rd quarter pretty much sealed the deal, scoring 17 of the 22 points.

Hawks receive some devisistating news as DeMarre Carroll went down last night with a gruesome knee injury in the 4th quarter which really shifted the momentum of the Hawks play. Carroll was helped off of the floor and would not return. The injury was initially ruled as a sprained knee, but the ‘Junkyard Dog’ will go a further evaluation today. Carroll has been Atlanta’s leading score throughout the playoffs and was responsible for guarding LeBron.

The Hawks/Cavs will be back in action for Game 2 at Phillips Arena this Friday, May 22 with tip-off starting at 8:30 pm on TNT.
