The TRPL (The Righteous Path in Life) Threat sneaker line called “Hip Hop Vol. 1” is available online now and at the Solexchange National Sneaker Convention at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, New Jersey, on Aug. 26. The sneakers are branded with the licensed colors and logos of iconic rap groups and record labels including Naughty by Nature, GZA from the Wu-Tang Clan, Duck Down Music, Onyx, Public Enemy and Brand Nubian.

“It is pretty hard to get a Converse, Nike, Adidas to buy in and work with you. We are independent and out of pocket,” Naughty by Nature’s Vin Rock told

Rock’s got high hopes for other collaborations to give the company, which is owned by sneaker designer veteran Danny Shaw, a huge boost. “We’re looking to get the younger guys to brand themselves, and put their names out there. We started working on the hip-hop series and we were getting a lot of positive feedback.” Looks like a step in the right direction.
