According to the rapper, he’s known from the beginning that she and #MeekMill would not be a good fit. He also knew that Meek dating Nicki would drive a wedge between Meek and Drake. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In Rick Ross’ new track, “Apple of My Eye,” off his newly released “Rather You Than Me” album, the #MMG frontman says “I told Meek I wouldn’t trust Nicki/Instead of beefing with your dog you just give him some distance/We all make mistakes, let’s not be too specific.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
From the line, it appears that Ross was referencing Nicki Minaj and her possible involvement in the beef between Meek Mill and #Drake. It seems Ross is saying that rather than jumping on social media to go at Drake, Meek should have simply distanced himself. It’s unclear whether he’s saying Drake made a mistake or if it was a mistake for Meek to burn his bridges. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
On March 9, Meek Mill hinted at the single by posting a photo alongside Ross with the caption “Rozay been told me don’t trust you” with the album’s release date “3.17.17.” ⠀⠀⠀
